Routine appointments Appointments can be made to see the doctor or nurse by calling in at the surgery or telephoning during opening hours. Routine appointments with the doctor are for 10 minutes and are available to book in advance. Appointment times with the nurse are variable and the Receptionist will allocate the appropriate time when you book an appointment.
Acute appointments If you have an acute illness or require emergency contraception you will need to inform the Receptionist and she will add you onto the next surgery wherever possible. For multiple problems or more complex issues you must book a routine 10 minute appointment.
FastTrack clinics We also run three FastTrack clinics a week on a Monday, Wednesday & Thursday morning. These are bookable 8 minute appointment slots and are suitable for short minor problems only.
Telephone Appointments Telephone consultations are available every morning Monday – Friday and can be booked in advance with either a male or female GP. To request a telephone consultation please phone the surgery anytime and you will be added to the “telephone appointment” list. The GP will phone you back usually between 10:30 – 12:30 but it will not be possible to give you an exact time. As with normal appointment sessions, if the list is full on a particular day you will be offered the next available session.
Please ensure you give the Receptionist a telephone number that you can be reached on and be aware that not all problems can be dealt with by telephone. If there is a possibility that you need to be examined you will need to make an appointment to come to the surgery. These telephone consultations are for straightforward problems or issues which can be dealt with over the telephone.
Practice nurses If you wish to speak to a Practice Nurse please ring the surgery and if she is free you will be put through straightaway. If not, your telephone number will be taken and she will ring you back on the same day.
